Happs launches ‘Diesel Rosé’ in honour of Jake and Callum Robinson

Happs Wines in Margaret River has launched a new limited-edition rosé in memory of Jake Robinson - a beloved son, friend, brother and Happs fan - who, along with his brother Callum and friend Carter Rhoad, tragically lost his life during a surfing and camping trip in Mexico in 2024.

The wine, affectionately named Diesel Rosé, is more than just a bottle. It’s a tribute. Jake had a deep love for Happs Rosé, but he never called it that. To him, it was always “Diesel.” Not because it was strong, but because it was fuel for good times, long nights and unforgettable memories.

The nickname started on a uni winery tour with mates - a quick-witted spin that stuck. From that day on, rosé was Diesel. And just like Jake’s charm, the name caught on fast.

Launching this September, Jake’s birthday month, 50 per cent of all Diesel Rosé sales will be donated to the Callum & Jake Robinson Foundation, a not-for-profit established in their honour to help others Live Bigger, Shine Brighter and Love Harder.

“This collaboration with the Callum & Jake Robinson Foundation is about more than wine,” Stacey Lewis Happs sales and marketing manager said.

“It’s about honouring two incredible lives and carrying their joy forward. Jake and Callum lived purposefully. This is our way of bottling that energy.”

Hannah Campbell, a close family friend, approached Happs with the idea.

“Jake didn’t just give rosé a new name - he gave it new meaning. He turned it into something joyful, cheeky and unforgettable.

“Now, whenever we see a glass of rosé, we think of him. We smile. We feel him there. That’s the kind of impact Jake had on people - it was lasting, and it was big. I want his memory to live on forever and this is one small way we can help make sure of that.”

The Foundation was formed after Callum (32), Jake (31) and their friend Carter Rhoad (33) were murdered while on a surfing and camping weekend in Mexico in 2024. The Foundation is a not-for-profit charity aiming to maximise positive changes in the lives of others. Its mission is to help people Live Bigger, Shine Brighter and Love Harder in their honour.

The Diesel Rosé – Fuel for Good campaign supports the Foundation’s three key initiatives:

·         Coastal and reef cleanups, preserving the oceans that inspired their love of surfing

·         Support for diabetic athletes, continuing Callum’s advocacy after living with Type 1 diabetes from the age of 12

·         Youth lacrosse access, funding equipment and goals so more kids can play the game Callum loved.

Diesel Rosé will be available this September at the Happs Wines cellar door and online via happs.com.au. Just in time for spring - and just in time to raise a glass.

Because when you drink Diesel, you don’t just taste rosé. You feel the love behind it.
