This wine is a classic expression of Margaret River Cabernet – bold yet refined. It opens with rich aromas of blackcurrant, bay leaf and cedar, followed by hints of tobacco, dark chocolate and graphite.
The palate is full-bodied and structured, with layers of cassis, plum and black olive supported by fine, chalky tannins. Subtle oak integration brings warmth without overpowering the fruit, leading to a long, savoury finish with a touch of dried herbs.
The 2020 vintage offered near-perfect ripening conditions. A warm, dry summer produced small berries with great intensity and tannin ripeness. The fruit was picked at optimum flavour development, then fermented in small batches to maintain purity and expression.
Matured in a mix of French oak barriques (30% new) for 18 months before bottling, the wine shows classic varietal character with the structure to age beautifully over the next decade.
Perfect with rosemary lamb, grilled mushrooms or a good cheddar. It’s the kind of wine that elevates a slow Sunday roast or brings depth to a simple cheese board.
