2022 James Halliday Award Winners

The 2022 James Halliday Award were announced on August 13th 2021.  Several of our wines received rave reviews.

Three Hills Sangiovese 2019 94 Points

"2019 was a cool year, one that has produced outstanding wines of clarity, poise and finesse. 100 doz only. Raspberry pip, red licorice, supple, chalky tannins and a lavender flower character through the finish. The flavours don't stop there ... pink peppercorn and a slice of prosciutto linger on the palate, compelling another sip. Delicious." Erin Larkin

Three Hills Tannat 2018 94 Points (sold out) 2019 available

"50 dozen only. Mulberry, aniseed, a touch of arnica, salted Dutch licorice and jasmine tea. On the palate this is balanced, earthy and ripe, with salty acidity that keeps all things on an even keel. A lot to like here, and presumably, this will become a graceful, soft, earthy wine in its old age." Erin Larkin

Happs Viognier 2020 94 Points

"On skins for 4 days, tank fermented with lees stirring. Crystalline fruit on the nose and palate; nashi pear, glacé ginger, green apple, summer apricot and white currant. The palate is viscose and rich, but with line and poise also. A lovely viognier with fine chalky phenolics laced through the mid palate and finish. Really long." Erin Larkin

Three Hills GSM 93 Points

"This is a complex, medium-bodied 61/26/13% blend, with plum, blueberry and black cherry fruits in a dainty necklace of tannins." James Halliday

Three Hills Malbec 2018 93 Points
