Meet The Musicians
Liam Wooding
Liam is a New Zealand-born concert pianist and Fulbright Scholar. Praised for his “chameleon-like ability with keyboard colour” (Radio NZ), he has performed across Australasia and collaborated with artists including Steven Schick, Stephanie Acraman, NZTrio and the Morton Trio. He has appeared at events hosted by the Banff Centre, Sharjah Art Foundation, Auckland Arts Festival and Four Winds Bermagui. A graduate of ANAM, the University of Waikato and the University of Auckland, Liam is now Répétiteur and Associate Lecturer at UWA.
Jared Yapp
Jared is a composer, violist and concert curator passionate about creating transformative musical experiences. A member of the Ad Lib Collective, he works across performance, community engagement and cross-artform collaboration. His works have been performed by leading orchestras including WASO, SSO and MSO, and he regularly arranges for bands and singer-songwriters. Jared has performed with artists such as Simone Young, Tim Munro and Sleep D. He trained at ANAM and now coordinates the training program as part of the team in Melbourne.
Oliva Bartlett
Olivia is a violinist in her second year at the Australian National Academy of Music, studying under Adam Chalabi. She completed a Bachelor of Arts with First Class Honours at UWA, where she performed as soloist with the Symphony Orchestra and received several awards. A founding member of the St. George’s College String Quartet, she has played in masterclasses with Pinchas Zukerman and freelanced with major Perth ensembles, including WASO. Recent highlights include leading the ANAM Chamber Orchestra and a residency at UKARIA.
Jeremy Garside
Jeremy is a Perth-based cellist and member of the West Australian Symphony Orchestra. He studied at UWA and the Australian National Academy of Music with Suzanne Wijsman and Howard Penny. In 2023, he moved to New Zealand as Associate Principal Cello with the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra. He toured nationally in 2024 with the Morton Trio, performing works by Dohnányi and Penderecki. Jeremy returned to Perth in June 2024 to take up his current role with WASO.
Phoebe Masel
Phoebe is a violinist and teacher based in nipaluna/Hobart. She studied at the Australian National Academy of Music and the University of Queensland. Phoebe performs casually with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra and has toured with Opera Australia, ACO and Musica Viva. She plays chamber music with Inventi Ensemble and the Hartz Trio, and teaches at youth music programs around Australia.
