In this imaginative workshop, children will sculpt curious crabs, whimsical sea critters and textured ocean-inspired creations with local ceramic artist Kay Manolas.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eUsing soft stoneware clay, children will discover the joy of turning simple shapes into expressive sea creatures while exploring handbuilding techniques, texture and storytelling through clay.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe session begins with children learning how to shape and construct forms by hand before adding details and bringing their coastal creatures to life. With Kay’s warm guidance, they’ll explore:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e• Handbuilding techniques to create playful sea creatures and sculptural forms\u003cbr\u003e• Rolling, shaping and joining clay pieces together\u003cbr\u003e• Using texture tools and found materials to create shells, scales, claws and ocean patterns\u003cbr\u003e• Sculpting small 3D details such as legs, eyes, fins and decorative elements\u003cbr\u003e• Personalising each creation with imaginative features and storytelling details\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe focus is on creative play, tactile exploration and discovering what clay can become through imagination and experimentation. Children are encouraged to create freely and enjoy the process in a relaxed and nurturing environment.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEach child will leave with a unique clay artwork full of personality and inspired by the wonders of the ocean.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eFiring Option:\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCreations can be taken home unfired on the day, or left with us for professional kiln firing. Please allow one week for drying and firing.
