Wherever one grows Shiraz it looks different. In the South of Margaret River, Shiraz is simply brilliant. It combines some of the welcoming fruit of the Victorian styles, the austerity of the French style with similar flavour notes, at the same time spicy, a little leafy, and redolent of white pepper. To produce its best in the Margaret River environment Shiraz demands warm summers and time on the vine; something we can provide plenty of at either of our vineyards.
AROMA: The wine has good aromatic intensity and displays dark fruit, maraschino cherry, raspberry and cocoa powder aromas with hints of star anise, violets, char and vanilla.
PALATE:The palate is powerful, rich and inky with concentrated fruit and displays mulberry, cherry cola, coffee and dark chocolate characters supported by a distinctive savoury thread that makes one think of charcuterie. Quality oak and abundant, slightly grainy tannins give the wine great structure and mouthfeel while the fruit flavour is persistent, sweet and juicy.
